Single-handed draw strokes should be the baseline level of competency for anyone serious about combatives training.

Two-handed draw strokes are a luxury… a gift of sorts. They represent the least worst-case scenario.

In a sudden, proximal, and dynamic deadly force encounter, the practicality of single-handed draw strokes far outweigh two-handed techniques.

Injury, entanglement, movement, environmental interaction, or task saturation frequently deny the practical use of both hands to clear a garment snd produce the desired tool.

If your baseline assumes two hands, your plan already presupposes that permission from the harshness of reality.

That assumption is a blind spot.
