Ever noticed that some classic S3 graphics cards - like the Trio 3D, Trio64, or ViRGE - have a "washed out" or gray background compared to other vintage cards? You aren't imagining it. It’s a literal hardware feature called the Pedestal Bit, a relic of the NTSC TV era that actually makes black colors appear gray on modern LCDs.
In this video, I take a scrapyard S3 Trio 3D 2X and hunt down the cause of this "Brightness Bug."
