Analysis of why rural parts of the US are struggling financially while cities and suburbs seem to be doing better. Most of the rural counties in the US are losing population and economics is the main reason. Here I examine economic sectors including agriculture, manufacturing, energy, high tech, mining, fishing, finance, shipping, military, universities, and more to determine why economic benefits don't tend to reach rural areas.
