GHS labels contain critical information—including hazard pictograms, safety instructions, product identification, and barcodes. But will this information remain readable after contact with water, alcohol, or oil?
In this video, we compare GHS label outputs produced with:
• A barcode printer
• An inkjet printer
• The ANY-002 LED toner label printer
Each sample was exposed to water, disinfecting ethanol, and WD-40, then rubbed to check for visible smearing and loss of readability.
In this comparison, the barcode and inkjet printer outputs began smearing during the initial water test and were also affected by ethanol and WD-40. The ANY-002 output showed no visible smearing throughout all three tests, keeping its text, GHS pictograms, and barcode clear and readable.
The ANY-002 also supports label printing up to 8 inches wide, making it easy to produce larger GHS labels for chemical pails, drums, and other industrial containers.
Print durability is important not only for GHS labels, but also for frozen products, cosmetics, industrial products, and other applications exposed to moisture, alcohol, oil, or repeated handling.
Results may vary depending on the printer, ink, ribbon, toner, label stock, coating, and test conditions. Testing the complete print-and-media combination under its actual conditions of use is recommended.
