Greg and Amy respond to a question about leaving a church that has solid theology but avoids divisive moral and cultural issues. They argue that Scripture naturally addresses many of these topics, especially when teaching about human nature, sin, marriage, and the image of God. While not every political issue should be preached as if there is only one Christian position, churches should not avoid hard topics simply because they make people uncomfortable. A church’s purpose is to equip the saints for maturity in Christ. Aoiding controversial issues can subtly shift the church’s focus from discipleship to numbers.
