Holding your pee too long can backfire, even though that relief feels amazing.
We undervalue how good normal bodily functions feel until something goes wrong. That post-pee relief after holding it all day or an easy bowel movement (some GI docs call it "poophoria") are sensations worth appreciating.
But here's the caveat: don't hold your bladder on purpose just to chase that feeling. Chronic bladder holding can lead to bladder leakage, incomplete emptying, and even UTI risk over time.
Your pelvic floor and bladder work best with regular, relaxed emptying throughout the day.
Send this to someone who waits way too long to find a bathroom.
