If you want one habit that prevents more crashes than almost anything else, it's keeping a space cushion, and this video shows you why. A rider hit the back of a car simply because he had no room to react, and that's a positioning problem, not a reflex problem. Part of the PLAN method is positioning for safety: a space cushion in front and to the sides, a good line of sight, and at least one escape path, so when something happens you have somewhere to go. I also break down why riders lose traction in the middle of a corner when they hit paint lines or slick surfaces, why entering a corner too fast for your skill level is what sets it up, and how to read those hazards before you reach them. I walk through it all with the PLAN method: position, locate, assess, navigate. These are the motorcycle riding tips that turn a close call into a non-event.
