Now that a few days have passed, I think it’s finally clear why Nintendo Partner Showcases land the way they do — and it’s not because this one was “the worst ever.” Nintendo Partner Showcases are structurally incapable of being exciting.
Nintendo saves its biggest first-party games for General Directs.
Major third-party publishers wait for those main events too.
Smaller partners and niche titles get amplified here by design.
And increasingly, Nintendo uses social media for major announcements instead.
That leaves Partner Showcases in an impossible position — especially if you’re not a huge JRPG fan.
