When US President John F. Kennedy visited West Berlin in 1963 and said "ich bin ein Berliner" (I am a Berliner), rumor has it the crowd burst out laughing, thinking that he accidentally referred to himself as a jelly-filled pastry called a Berliner. To put it short... that's a huge lie, he actually got it right
