Today we're finding out why everyone keeps telling me Star Citizen is broken. I've been playing for about a month now and I've had an absolutely great time... so this morning I'm going to go and watch the worst bugs, glitches and disasters the internet has to offer and see exactly what I've been missing. We're covering the infamous Siege of Orison dev livestream, the elevators that eat people, the ships that brick themselves, and the small industry of community videos that exist purely to work around it all. Have I just been lucky? Or have I quietly learned what not to do without ever noticing I was doing it? 👀
🎬 TODAY WE'RE TALKING ABOUT:
🚀 The Siege of Orison livestream that went very, very wrong
🛗 Elevators, freight elevators, and all the ways they betray you
🛸 Bricked ships, vanished cargo and the dreaded 30k
🎮 What "broken" actually means — bugs vs bad design vs unfinished
🤔 Why my month in the 'verse looks nothing like everyone else's
📋 The workaround list we're all running without realising it
⚔️ Star Citizen vs Elite Dangerous, and why we're all so angry about it
💬 And YOUR reactions in chat
I'm coming at this from the perspective of a long-time Elite Dangerous player who's been spending a lot more time in Star Citizen lately.. and, full disclosure, as someone who rage-quit this game once already after being thrown in space jail for 24 hours over an accident. So I'm really not here to defend it. I'm here to work out whether my experience or everyone else's is the honest one, because they can't both be the whole story.
This isn't about blindly hyping it or tearing it apart. We're watching it, talking about it, and deciding for ourselves.
Commanders and Citizens, I want to hear from you: What's the worst bug you've ever hit in Star Citizen? Did it make you quit? And when exactly did we stop just loving space games and start picking teams?

Grab a drink, settle in, and let's go and find out just how broken this game really is. o7 🚀

Star Citizen is an upcoming multiplayer, space trading and combat game developed and published by Cloud Imperium Games for Microsoft Windows. Development of the game began in 2011[3] led by director Chris Roberts, and is being mostly financed from a large crowdfunding campaign of over $250 million. The games full launch was originally anticipated to be in 2014, but significant expansion of gameplay features have led to postponement. Squadron 42, a single-player story-driven game set in the same universe as Star Citizen, is also being developed.
