Capcom's goal with Monster Hunter Wilds was to create the most seamless hunting experience seen in the series yet. It's just a shame it takes 10+ hours to actually experience it.
There's no sugarcoating it: low rank in Monster Hunter Wilds is a story-centric experience laden with cutscenes. Not only does this continue a worrying trend from the game's predecessor, Monster Hunter World, but raises greater concerns for what this restrictive, heavy narrative focus could mean for the future of Monster Hunter.
This video aims to explore why low rank's transformation in Wilds into such a heavily-narrative driven experience is antithetical to Monster Hunter's entire identity, and why these issues with low rank STILL matter - even long after breaking into high rank.

To some, Metroid Dread is just another new 2D Metroid game. To veterans, its the rumored video game theyve been waiting 16 years for. 10/16/2021 UPDATE: Turns out, I missed a fun bit of info. In 2019, Vergeben (of Smash leaker fame) made a post on SSBUs GameFAQs message board about all games he had info on regarding upcoming E3 2019 announcements. Everything in his post, from Code Veins release date to Deathloops existence, eventually came to pass. This also included less concrete info on a new Warioware game and the existence of Metroid 5, neither of which would be announced for another 2 years.
