Psalm 27:4 says "One thing I've asked and this will I seek... That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and seek him in his temple".
David and Solomon weren't perfect. They made mistakes, yet they were both chosen by God. But why was David called a man after God's own heart?
When given the chance to ask for anything, the difference was clear: Solomon asked for wisdom, and David asked for God himself.
More than blessing, success, or answers, David desired God’s presence.
