After some time away getting a few upgrades, I finally pick up my Lamborghini Murciélago LP640 from Ultimate Auto where it received paint correction, STEK paint protection film (PPF), and freshly refinished black brake calipers. Seeing the car back together and fully protected makes me appreciate just how insane the LP640 Murciélago really is — one of the last truly raw V12 Lamborghinis ever built.
While checking out the finished work, I start talking about one of the ideas that has been living in my head for a long time… converting the Murciélago to a gated manual transmission. The LP640 originally came with the E-Gear automated manual, but the thought of a true gated V12 Lamborghini is incredibly tempting. Would it ruin the car… or make it the ultimate driver’s Murciélago?
Back at the shop we also dive into another headache: my Nissan Skyline R32 GTR AWD system. Something isn’t working right with the ATTESA all-wheel-drive system, leaving the car acting like it’s stuck in RWD. We start diagnosing what might be causing the issue and what it might take to get the legendary R32 GTR AWD system working properly again.
