Why I’m Actually Hopeful for the New Star Fox on Switch 2
After Star Fox 64, it honestly felt like Nintendo spent years trying to figure out what Star Fox was supposed to be.
Star Fox Adventures became more of a Zelda-style adventure game.
Star Fox Assault mixed classic Arwing gameplay with on-foot combat.
Star Fox Command leaned into tactical gameplay and touchscreen mechanics.
And while each game had its fans… none of them fully reignited the franchise the way Nintendo probably hoped.
Then came Star Fox Zero on the Wii U. And honestly? There was probably a really solid Star Fox game buried underneath the awkward GamePad controls.
But the Wii U only sold around 13 million units, meaning Zero never really had a fair chance to succeed—especially compared to games like Mario Kart 8, which exploded after getting ported to the massively successful Nintendo Switch. #gaming #nintendo #starfox
