I used to use cycling gloves when on an electric skateboard. I know they’re not good for high speed falls but my thinking was that they’d at least help for low speed falls. Nearly all of my falls happened at low speeds.
Well I had a high speed fall a few weeks ago. Cycling glove caught the ground and fortunately I went into a roll. I wasn’t badly injured at all but I knew it was due more to luck than skill. I might not be so lucky next time.
I’m in China so getting those Flatland 3D gloves isn’t feasible. I’m also not sure how well they’d work in reality (as opposed to in theory) as I’ve never seen videos of anyone putting their hands on the ground with those gloves. However there are of course tons of videos of people bailing and sliding on downhill gloves.
So I got downhill gloves and devised an ingenious solution for holding the remote while having the puck attached!

It takes just one bad battery pack to start a fire. I use these automatic fire suppressors to reduce the risk of fire spreading if I'm not around.

A defective BMS could result in a fire if the battery is charged for too long. I use a plug with a shut-off timer to prevent overcharging.
