In this video, I explain why I stopped speaking in tongues and share both my personal experience and the biblical reasons that led me to reconsider charismatic tongues.
I grew up in a Pentecostal church and was taught about the baptism of the Holy Spirit and the gift of tongues. Many people described tongues as a private prayer language, but I began to ask important questions: Is speaking in tongues biblical? What does the Bible say about speaking in tongues? Does Scripture teach a private prayer language, or something different?
We look closely at passages such as Acts 2 and 1 Corinthians 14 to examine what tongues in the Bible actually mean. I also address common texts people use when discussing charismatic tongues and Pentecostal speaking in tongues, including questions about praying in the Spirit and whether tongues should be practiced today.
