My Mahindra tractor backhoe is 18 years old, and it's been leaking for a couple years now. It's gotten so bad I have to fix it, and it's a big job! 5 cylinders to rebuild, plus leaking control valves to figure out. Searching online I find seal kits for crazy prices, as high as $280 per cylinder. I then find a more reasonable site with prices $80-105 per cylinder. That's still too high, we can do a lot better than that. I tear it apart, figure out the control valve leaks, show how to measure the cylinders for new seals and O-rings, discuss different material options for seals and O-rings, and order replacements. I install everything and put it to the test. My backhoe model is a 511B.
Parts I ordered for the backhoe:
Swing cylinders: piston seal: PS-1500-40, wiper: HW-1250V, Gland seal: DRTU18-1.25-31, Backup ring: 575-330, Orings: 568-142, 568-300, 568-022 (I used Viton orings, but 70 duro buna N is cheaper.)
Stabilizer cylinder: piston seal: PS-1500-40, wiper: HW1500V, gland seal: DRTU25-1.5-37, Backup ring: 575-330, O-rings: 568-330, 568-142, 568-022 (I used Viton orings, but 70 duro buna N is cheaper.)
Boom cylinder: piston seal: PS-1500-48, wiper: HW1500V (Just HW1500 if V not available), gland seal: DTRU25-1.5-37, Backup ring: 575-334, O-rings: 568-022, 568-334, 568-150 (I used Viton orings, but 70 duro buna N is cheaper.)
Bucket cylinder: piston seal: PS1500-48, wiper: HW-2000V, gland seal: DRTU18-2.00-37, Backup ring: 575-334, O-rings: 568-024, 568-334, 568-150 (I used Viton orings, but 70 duro buna N is cheaper.)
Control valve O-rings: 2.50mm CS X 14mm ID FKM 75 duro, 1.6mm CS X 15.1mm ID FKM 75 duro.
