What happens when you get popular Marvel character and make a hero shooter? Honestly, this came out of nowhere for me. Marvel Rivals has been one of my most played games to date and is one of my main vices at this point. A consistently fun game that puts me on regular 2-5 hour long sessions has got to be doing something right. And what is it that makes this game so appealing to me? A person who never cared for Marvel or shooters at all? Well watch and find out.
Alrighty for anyone who actually CARES you might be confused about the nature of this video. Well truth be told I actually original recorded the voiceover for this video all the way back in January of 2025, so last year. The reason why I'm doing this now is because the old recording was still good to me and gave me good insight on what my thought process was at the time, and just what I thought of the game in general. Which was appealing to me.
So what we have here is a video of me explaining why I love this game but from only 2 months into the game being out. Needless to say, I have ALOT more to say about the game now after it now having been a year and am planning to make a follow up video about it hopefully soon. So yeah this isn't the end to this madness, I gotta make the almost 1,000 hours I have in this game count somehow right?
Fun fact: The Psylocke drawing I made for the thumbnail in this video is a drawing I started making back on January 11th 2025! So literally 17 days before I record the audio for this video, which means that both the video AND the art stayed in my files for a LONG time before EVER being completed. Needless to say I put in about 5 hours into it before and had to put in an additional 7 to finish it recently. Soooo....yeah! :D

The game was released for PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S on December 6, 2024, with a PlayStation 4 version released on September 12, 2025 and a Nintendo Switch 2 version currently in development. The game is free-to-play with a current lineup of 49 characters from Marvel Comics, and features cross-play across all supported platforms.
