TIG welding aluminum is all about proper set up and following procedure, but after doing this professionally for over 20 years, I've decided that there is value in breaking some of the deeply kept rules with TIG welding sometimes. 
This is something that genuinely makes the biggest difference to my actual welding. I still keep laser point control, yet the resilience of this adjustment to my tungsten electrode gets me the most restarts, and I experience pretty much know fluttering or misshaping.  the accuracy and stability remains great at really high amperage and even really low. 
Tons of people argue with me over this one on the Internet, are you going to be another one of those people today? Or get into the shop and try something different?
