This video was actually about 30 minutes long, but I cut out a lot because it felt like I was complaining and wanted to still deliver actionable advice to you, Content Creation is a dream job but it is still a job, which means it comes with pressure and difficulties.
I'd wager that sometimes because you are so invested in not losing your dream that it adds more pressure than normal, this anxiety and fear for me lead to being far too intense about my analytics, and in turn that obsession with analytics meant I stopped creating content that made me happy, and the reason why I almost quit content creation and this youtube channel

How New Streamers Obsess Over There Analytics
When you first start out as a creator, it is incredibly difficult not to check your analytics. You want to know how many viewers you have while live so you keep looking over at that little red number, or after the stream you look at your analytics to see your average, every single thing that determines if a stream was good, bad, or successful starts to come down to those numbers…
Did you get enough viewers? Did you get any followers? How was your retention? And all of these things start to determine if you even enjoyed the stream, because to you those analytics say if it was a bad stream… or a good stream… despite the fact that your enjoyment can’t really be measured by those numbers.
It is the same on every platform, you release a video then watch to see how many views it gets, you go to bed, wake up the next day curious so you check to see if it got any views overnight.
At worst, you haven’t had any new subscribers or maybe not as many views as you wanted, at best you have had views and you’re looking at them like, “Hey neat, my content is getting views!” still giving power to the numbers to determine worth.

Why Focusing On Your Twitch & Youtube Channel Analytics Is Detrimental
The reason this was so awful was that I could have a really fun stream that my audience loved, we laughed, and made good content… then after the stream, I would look at analytics, and even if I had great average viewers I’d see my unique chatters was low or my subs were low….
And I’d start questioning if my content was even as good as I thought because as humans we are so focused on the negatives that even though it was a fun stream… and even though the average viewers were great… I started thinking I was terrible because one single analytic that I cared about determined to me that the stream wasn’t good.
How To Be More Productive As A Creator
Earlier I said that if I took all the time I spent reading analytics and instead spent that time scripting I would be more successful, this is because most of your success as a creator comes from just 20% of the work you do, the other 80% is important sure but it isn’t what leads to your growth. If you want to sound smart this is called the Pareto principle but I always just called it the Ciggy Method because when you make it a graph it looks like a cigarette.
Find your 20% and focus on that, grow that and you'll grow your audience.
The style of this video is similar to Alpha Gaming and Gaming Careers in parts. A large influence on this series has come from content creators like Wild4games and Nutty.
