Join Aaron Wissner as he develops a complex hypothesis for the reason that apes do not have tails, related to a 4 km rocky asteroid impact in northern Asia, followed by a world glaciation; and later by the lack of a tail in one (or more) Catarrhini old world monkey leading the all of the apes.
Aaron extends the lesson to attempt to uncover the branching of the apes line between the gibbons and hominoidae; then between orangutans and homininae; then gorillas and hominini, then homo and pan, and finally between pan troglodytes (chimpanzee) and pan paniscus (bonobo).
To compress time, try playing back speeds 1.25, 1.5, 1.75 or 2.0x.
