Well, their Supreme Court has ruled our community âan extremist organisationâ, and defined marriage as only ever âthe union between a man and a womanâ đ
But a countryâs government doesnât speak for all of its people. Obviously we think globally when a major power makes a big stance like this but we need to hold in our hearts the queer Russian people around the world who are most affected by this news.
But itâs important to acknowledge that a governmentâs decisions donât represent the diverse perspectives of all its citizens. Obviously when we think of geopolitics we consider the impact on the global community- but letâs send love, warmth and support to those Russian LGBTQ+ individuals whose lives are deeply impacted âĽď¸đłď¸âđ
