I examine why Marvel's newest film, Guardians of the Galaxy is doing so well despite it's more obscure source material. I also discuss what this means for future films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I finally remark how amazing it is that the film has climbed up and down in the box office for the last five or so weeks of its initial theatrical run.
