Did you notice this easter egg in the new Green Day movie?

When Finn leaves the room, you can see a poster featuring the flower from Kerplunk. On the album cover, the flower appears on the shirt of a girl holding a smoking gun.

And the story behind her is insane.

She was inspired by Laurie L., a fictional Green Day fan who murdered her parents so she could follow the band on tour. Larry Livermore created the story to make fun of the sexism young female fans faced at punk shows, before artist Chris Appelgren turned the idea into the Kerplunk girl.
