something about converting my lawn from green grass to native plants has really made this issue take up A LOT of space in my mind. It's also been this weird feeling that I'm doing what should be so obviously right (in a moral & environmental sense) but so many people around me have looked down on me and made such snide comments about it SO - here's to educating those who have go along with such a problematic standard without even considering the history & the impacts!
