Gentle protest is based on nonviolent communication and good faith. It does not divide the world into winners and losers. It aims for accountability and respect without allowing those in power to retreat into a bubble where they can ignore scrutiny and manipulate the situation by portraying themselves as victims of activism. It's much more difficult to do that when you are treated as an equal, with compassion and respect.
