Planting in the fall helps your plants avoid the stress of peak summer months and gives them a major head start on producing beautiful spring blooms. In this video, we demonstrate how to properly plant own-root roses in containers to ensure they thrive all winter long.

Key Fall Planting Tips:
- Always ensure your container has a drainage hole, as rose roots do not like having wet feet.
- Add a little bit of extra perlite to your potting mix to allow water to easily go through the soil.
- Mix in Heirloom™ Bone Meal to help the rose establish strong root formations before spring arrives.
- Massage the root ball gently to break up the soil and give the roots a little bit of breathing room before placing it in the pot.
- Remember that while the plant may not show much above-ground growth in the fall, warm soil allows it to grow stronger, larger roots underground.
