Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a martial art and combat sport that originated in Brazil in the early 20th century. It is based on the principles of leverage and grappling, with a focus on ground fighting and submissions.
BJJ is often compared to other forms of grappling such as wrestling and judo, but it differs in its emphasis on positional dominance and submissions. In BJJ, practitioners aim to get their opponent to the ground, where they can use various techniques to gain a dominant position and eventually submit them through a joint lock or chokehold.
