Peter talks about how the Evangelical church was severely weakened by the Scofield Reference Bible which teaches that Jesus is not currently the Christ. However I John 5:1 states that one is born again when they believe Jesus is (currently) the Christ. Then he talks about how the Catholic Church has been severely weakened by implying that Jesus was mistaken about the age of the earth and how God created Adam and Eve. They do this by teaching worldwide in its schools that the universe is billions of years old and that Adam and Eve came into existence through an evolutionary process. Jesus they claim, (who Himself created the world), was mistaken when He believed in a six day creation. This is what they teach even though as the former dean of the graduate school at Notre Dame once told Peter: “Theistic evolution is the official teaching at Notre Dame but we do not like openly saying that Jesus was wrong in teaching with Moses that the world was only about 6 thousand years old. (and not 4 billion years old).”
