She recalled being overwhelmed by grief after the assassination of her father, the mysterious death of her uncle, and the tragic loss of her grandmother. At law school, struggling and in pain, she said she went home one night, picked up a knife, and thought about ending her life.
“In the midst of it, I heard the voice of God say, put the knife down. People are going to miss you,” King shared. “And He reminded me of the call that I had.”
For Dr. King, the Holy Spirit’s intervention not only saved her life—it set her on the path to live out her purpose and ministry.
