When Dr. Jason Reed was an Evangelical seminary professor, he wanted to teach his students to seek truth wherever that quest led them. But when disputes arose over key doctrines, they were frustrating to navigate; if both sides were arguing from Scripture, could a question ever be settled?

Dr. Reed shares how he came to see the Creeds not as a narrow restriction imposed on the Bible from outside to forbid critical thought, but rather as guardrails of established and settled Scriptural truths that allowed the rest of the Bible to be explored with more freedom and confidence.
