The Sea Otter is an amazing animal – these small members of the weasel family are native to the shores of North-Western America and North-Eastern Russia. These adorable mammals have some unique behaviours – family members will sleep while “holding hands” and mothers will wrap their pups in seaweed when they go hunting, but why?
In the beginning of the 20th century, Sea Otters nearly became extinct because they were hunted for their fur, but luckily, an international ban on hunting them has helped their population return to about two-thirds of its original size.
