Howdy folks, EJ here.
My buddy StuNasty asked me to participate in a little project of his, called WhyYoutubersYoutube. I've been kinda too busy for Youtube these days, but I decided to do this anyway. It may just seem like personal talk... I don't really have anything profound to say. :/ There's no real overarching, magical, useful words for others to be inspired by... This is just... What I do. Here's what I have to say about my motivation for why I do Youtube:
I do Youtube it because I love being able to be creative. I love being able to have a goofy or amazing idea, and then to have free reign to decide how to deliver it to others in a way that makes them laugh, or think, as well. Am I gonna make an animation? Maybe invent a redstone contraption, or a full-blown adventure story to demonstrate a simple point!? I love being able to have a random inspiration, and see it through to a great finished product, after countless hours of hard work, and having someone out there appreciate it, laugh at it, or be taught something useful by it.
I love helping and entertaining people, and Youtube is a great platform to do it from. And the great thing is, Youtube even offers the chance to make a living off of being creative in this way, which I would LOVE to someday do! Making a living off of what I love would allow me to put more effort into my projects, and finish some amazing things that real life has gotten in the way of. Because I have to support myself and worry about school, I've been too busy to complete some of my best projects. Which means that sadly, while I may or may not have the skills and ideas required to succeed, I simply do not have the TIME that I need, to produce content that I feel is actually worth people's time... And after a long struggle of posting videos that I didn't feel were up to my perfectionistic standards, I just don't know if I'll be able to continue, unfortunately.
But whether or not I actually DO it... This is WHY I do Youtube, and why I do many of the other things I do as well, outside of Youtube. I love to help and entertain people, and change the world, one bit at a time.
Thanks for listening, and I'll see you all later.
