One of the biggest myths dog owners believe is that dogs only eat grass when they’re sick.
But that’s not always true.
A lot of dogs eat grass even when they’re perfectly healthy.
Some dogs like the taste.
Some dogs like the texture.
Some dogs are satisfying natural foraging instincts.
And some dogs are especially interested in it in the morning or after it rains.
As long as it’s not excessive and your dog isn’t showing other signs of illness, eating grass is usually completely normal.
And yes, sometimes a dog may eat grass and throw up after.
But that does not automatically mean something is wrong every single time.
That’s what makes dog behavior so interesting. Some of the things dogs do can look concerning, but when you understand the behavior, it often makes a lot more sense.
