Why do cars on TV appear to have wheels that spin backward?

I am a physics educator, and I enjoy making videos for my students to better understand physics phenomena.

We start our year with Motion and this is one of the first topics that gets covered. I remember watching Knight Rider as a kid and wondering why K.I.T.T.'s wheels looked like they were spinning backwards, so it was great to make a video that explains that!
