The Boeing 747SP is certainly one of the most unique looking airliners ever built. This shortened version of the Boeing 747-100, named the 747SP for “Special Performance”, was developed in the 1970s as a longer-range 747 variant.
Only 45 of these planes were ever built, making them one of the rarest airliners in the world. But, did you know that two of them are still flying in Canada?
With many thanks to my good friend @MarkBrandonAviation for his help with several of the clips!

![MORNING TAKEOFFS from Calgary International Airport [4K]
A clear morning in Calgary is one of the ultimate times to go plane spotting at YYC, with some unbeatable views of downtown and the Rockies in the distance!
This morning filmed back in April was a bit on the hazy side, but still had some great traffic and awesome city views. Enjoy these 19 departures!

![Big Changes at WestJet
Last Thursday, June 16th, WestJet published an article with the headline of “Securing the future: how a growing, stronger, sustainable WestJet benefits Canadians”.
In it, they essentially outline a shift in their business strategy going forward, and a t the helm of all of this is WestJet’s new CEO, Alexis von Hoensbroech, who joined the airline from the Lufthansa Group in February.
Naturally, it’s all very carefully worded to avoid specifics, but there are a few points in here that are worth talking about!
