Palpatine didn’t use power to tempt Anakin, he played the victim. He told Anakin the Jedi were plotting a takeover. That they were coming to kill him.
Not justice. Not peace. Betrayal. And that they had been lying to Anakin for years. Anakin believed him. And in that moment, he didn’t see a villain. He saw the only person still telling him he had a choice.
