Trace Dominguez | Why Did SpaceX Really Launch that Tesla Roadster? @TraceDominguez | Uploaded 6 years ago | Updated 6 hours ago
SpaceX just launched the Falcon Heavy for her very first test flight, but at the tippy-top wasn't a satellite, or a space craft. Instead, Musk's space exploration added his cherry red Tesla Roadster… Why? Why not launch a real satellite? Why throw yet another piece of space junk into the solar system? What's the real reason they launched a car into orbit? Wasn't this just a colossal waste of money?!
These were real a questions I'd heard from friends, co-workers, strangers on Twitter and people I wish were strangers on Facebook. So, here I am with some reasons. I feel strongly about this, maybe you can tell.

Boilerplates are commonly seen in many test launches. The vintage footage was mainly about Big Joe (also called BJ-1😏) used in the Mercury program. It was recovered in-tact!

Here’s a vintage video project from early-NASA research that talks all about it…
