High fructose corn syrup is not used in infant formulas.
Babies need carbohydrates for energy, but some little tummies can’t tolerate lactose, a common carb found in many formulas. That’s where corn syrup solids come in! They’re a gentle, easily digestible alternative used in sensitive or hypoallergenic formulas.
Because both ingredients come from corn starch, their names can sound similar, but don’t be fooled: high fructose corn syrup and corn syrup solids are not the same!
