Learn more about my DAX & Modeling Course - products.goodly.co.in/learn-dax-powerbi
In this video, I explain an important behaviour of the CALCULATE function in DAX.
When you add a filter inside CALCULATE, it can override the filter coming from your visual. So even if your table or matrix is showing different sales channels, CALCULATE can force the measure to calculate only for one selected channel.
We also look at what happens when two filters inside CALCULATE seem to clash, for example, when one filter removes the channel filter and another filter applies a specific channel.
This is one of those small DAX details that can completely change your result if you don’t understand the order in which filters are applied.
