After working on many home automation projects for others, I finally decided to build my own! In this video, I show how I designed and built a cloud-free smart light switch, powered by the ESP32-C6 Waveshare board.
It features an AMOLED touch screen, built-in RTC clock, speaker and tons of possibilities like alarms, timers, smart control, and remote access… all without depending on third-party cloud services.
Just pure local control. 🛠️⚡

To mount the switch, I designed a custom PCB-based mounting plate. PCBs are manufactured with high precision, so why not use them as structural parts? With a bit of creativity, they can become cases, holders, or even entire enclosures!
