SKTheCrusader | Why Britain Should Be Abolished @SKTheCrusader | Uploaded April 2022 | Updated October 2024, 3 hours ago.
It's taken a little longer than I'd like, but at last it's here and we'll be back to the every 4 week schedule. So if you've ever had this feeling that something is wrong with Britain this is the video for you!
In this video I go through what exactly I mean when I say "Britain" including a fair bit of history especially the formation of the UK itself, beginning with England's conquest of Wales and the formation of the Lordship of Ireland going all the way up to Scotland's ill-fated Darien Plan to send Scottish people to try to colonise the Panama Isthmus... which not to spoil it went about as well as you'd expect.
I also try to understand what the characteristics of Britishness are, both by seeing what people (especially in this case Peter Oborne in his book The Assault on Truth) believe about Britain, lean on my own personal experience as someone who isn't White British and is a second generation immigrant with all the challenges that brings. Finally I try to understand Britishness by talking to people trying to separate themselves from the UK, Dan from Desolation Radio who supports Welsh Independence, Elijah who supports Scottish Independence and Dave who is the deputy leader of the Northern Independence Party. They all had some interesting perspectives and you'll get to hear a lot from them with excerpts from our conversations/interviews.
Finally I try to make the case for abolition, which admittedly is mostly just looking at the state of the country and sighing loudly for 6 minutes, but it's still good!
