In the early days of Gymshark, I had a choice: focus on my strengths, or work on my weaknesses. I remember watching Gary’s content at the time, and he talked about leaning on your friends and the people around you. That really stuck with me.
So instead of trying to do it all, I zoomed out and asked myself: what does Gymshark need most from me? The answer was clear, Gymshark needed me to be world-class at brand, product, and marketing.
That’s why we brought in a CEO. He brilliantly ran the company day-to-day, which gave me the freedom to double down on what I was best at. It also meant I could fail and learn in other areas without risking the business.
Looking back, that decision was one of the most powerful for my growth as a founder.
