Call of Duty Black Ops 2 is so iconic that Black Ops 7 in 2025 is completely trying to emulate it. What is it about Black Ops 2 that is so special though? Ive felt that BO2 was a special Call of Duty game for a while, but now that were in the year that BO2 takes place in, and also BO7 is clearly invoking the imagery in BO2. Were going to look as a Black Ops 2 retrospective on the zombies mode, the campaign, and the multiplayer and how Black Ops 2 also predicted the future.
