A lot of artists embrace the notion of ‘the lone artist’ - they work independently and are proud of being able to achieve everything all on their own. Being an artist is lonely.
During the pandemic, the world has developed new ways of working together while being apart. With the help of online tools, the world of work may have changed forever. Even if we are in isolation, we can work as a team, to collaborate and make projects happen without seeing each other’s faces.
If we are to learn anything from the pandemic, it would be working together despite all the difficulties. But curiously, artists are not best known for working in groups or teams. Music artists tend to form bands and groups, but not visual artists. Why not? Today I'd like to start a series of videos on the 'lonely artists' and explore ways for artists to work together.
