We had a lot of questions around what it’s like to create an app with the help of the people who use it (aka “crowdsourcing”.) Does it change how the app works? And how it evolves? What’s the motivation for people to want to help? What do they get out of it? And how much help do they need to give to make it work?
Which led us to check out Waze, a community-based traffic and navigation app that joined Google a couple of years ago. We talked with Di-Ann, a member of the Waze team, and also took a roadtrip (in a sweeeeet RV) to the beach with Jesse, a Waze global champ / volunteer map editor.
