A provision that would ban state and local regulation of AI at state and local level was removed from the “Big Beautiful Bill.”

note: Along with most startups, venture capital and tech, we opposed California’s attempt, sponsored by State Senator Scott Weiner last year, to restrict and limit innovation and progress with AI regulation that was eventually (correctly) vetoed by the governor.
