I love this breakdown from Coach Majkrzak on scripted offense. A 32 minute a game guy needs about 34 plays locked in cold, 25 for your normal first half and second half rotations, plus 9 more for those late game situations at the end of each half.
What really stands out to me is the lefty on the right wing point. Recruiting a player specifically so his strong hand attacks downhill is the kind of detail most coaches never even think about, and it shows up in the efficiency of an action more than people realize.
The tradeoff is real too. Scripted basketball can strip out some of the emotional chaos of the game, but it also gives your players stone cold clarity on what to do and where to be. That's a trade a lot of good programs are willing to make. #shorts
