2025 was a rough year for PC gaming.
We dealt with GPU shortages, skyrocketing prices, and even GPUs literally melting thanks to the 12VHPWR connector. Nvidia’s RTX 5090s and 5080s were affected, and even some AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT cards weren’t immune.

On the CPU side, X3D chips were reportedly blowing up on certain ASRock motherboards. AI became more relevant than ever, which triggered massive RAM and storage shortages—pushing memory prices to all-time highs. To make things worse, Micron exited the consumer market altogether.

Here’s hoping 2026 treats PC gamers a lot better.
