Here's everything to know for your trip to Iceland in August! 🇮🇸

🌞 Daylight:
Still 14-18 hours to play with, just a touch shorter than peak summer.

🌦️ Weather:
Mild by Icelandic standards, 8-15°C with rain, sun, and wind all possible in the same day.

🧳 Packing:
Layers are non-negotiable — wool or fleece, a wind- and waterproof shell, plus a beanie and gloves for good measure.

🏔️ Activities:
Berry picking, kayaking, hiking, or camping. Explore by horse, bike, or ATV, try glacier hiking, snorkeling, or ice floating, and don't skip a soak in a hot spring or lagoon. Just make sure you spot the whales and puffins before the season winds down.

👀 Northern Lights:
The season quietly kicks back off at the end of the month, once the skies get dark enough again.

🥳 Events:
There are so many events in Iceland in August: Innipúkinn, Þjóðhátíð, Pride Week, a total solar eclipse on the 12th, Culture Night, the Reykjavík Marathon, and the Jazz Festival
Save this for your August trip to Iceland!
